Together with 4 other Flemish projects, North-C-Methanol got selected, after a two-stage selection round, for the first wave of IPCEI projects. IPCEI stands for ‘Important Projects of Common European Intrest’. The IPCEI status for projects stimulates member states to support important industrial investment projects for societal challenges, in this case ‘hydrogen’. The Flemish government foresees 106 million euros for the first wave of projects.
Furthermore, the Flemish government signed an MoU with the European Investment Bank to create a framework to assure implementation of important hydrogen projects.
This selection means a big boost for the North-C-Methanol project. Together with the ETS Innovation Fund, the IPCEI status will provide a significant amount of funding for the project.
